I'm a writer and editor in Denver, Colorado. As a senior editor at 5280 Magazine, I write and edit stories about nature, travel, and more (my most-read piece so far this year focused on poor working conditions at Denver grocery stores). From 2020 to 2025 I was a senior editor at Texas Monthly, where I also concentrated primarily on travel and the outdoors, alongside launching two of the magazine's most popular series: the Critter of the Month print column and the Texans You Should Know digital series on overlooked historical figures.
From 2016 to 2020 I was managing editor at the Texas Observer, a National Magazine Award-winning nonprofit focused on investigative news. Before that, I spent five years at the Alcalde, the University of Texas at Austin alumni magazine, ending my time there as senior editor.
Outside work, you can often find me hiking and camping with my family, sometimes with a knitting project in tow.
